Mattel appoints Roger Lynch as chief executive officer

The Board of Directors of Mattel, Inc. has announced that Roger Lynch will take over as the company's next Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Lynch, who presently serves on the toy maker's Board of Directors as Independent Lead Director, is slated to succeed current leader Ynon Kreiz in both executive positions. Under the leadership transition timeline announced by the El Segundo, California-based corporation, Lynch will officially assume the role of Chairman on October 2, 2026. His appointment to the role of Chief Executive Officer will subsequently take effect on or before November 2, 2026.[1][2]

Ynon Kreiz will conclude his tenure as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer when he formally steps down from both leadership roles at Mattel on October 2, 2026. According to the company, Kreiz is leaving his post at Mattel in order to take on a senior leadership position at another public company. The planned succession allows Lynch to move from his current capacity as an independent director on the Board of Directors into the full-time responsibilities of leading Mattel as both its Chief Executive Officer and Board Chairman.[1][2]
