Secret Service shoots person near White House, bystander also shot, law enforcement official says
A law enforcement official says the Secret Service shot a person near the White House on Saturday, injuring a bystander while President Trump was inside

According to a law enforcement official, the Secret Service shot an individual near the White House on Saturday evening, and a bystander was also shot during the encounter. Journalists who were working at the White House at the time reported hearing the sound of gunfire and were subsequently instructed to seek shelter inside the press briefing room for safety.[1][2]
President Donald Trump was inside the White House when the shooting took place nearby. In a social media post addressing the situation, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that law enforcement officers were responding to the shots fired and stated that he would provide updates to the public as they were able.[1][2]
The gunfire on Saturday occurred nearly a month after what law enforcement authorities described as an attempted assassination of President Trump. That previous incident took place during the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.[1]
