Lazada records surge in million-dollar brands during sale
Higher-value purchases and AI-guided shopping helped push more brands past key sales milestones during Lazada's 9.9 shopping event.

Southeast Asian ecommerce platform Lazada reported an influx of merchants reaching key sales milestones during its 9.9 Mega Brands Sale. According to the company, the number of brands joining its Million-Dollar Club—representing sellers that generate at least US$1 million in gross merchandise value (GMV)—increased by nearly 10% compared with the earlier 6.6 promotional campaign.[1][2][3]
The sales event also saw an expansion in the ranks of merchants hitting other performance tiers, with notable growth recorded among brands reaching US$100,000 and US$500,000 GMV thresholds. In addition, shopping baskets valued at US$100 or more accounted for almost 60% of total GMV throughout the campaign, reflecting a growing consumer appetite for higher-value purchases across the platform.[1][2][3]
Lazada indicated that merchant success throughout the campaign was underpinned by several core discovery and conversion mechanisms. The company highlighted LazMall, affiliate-led discovery channels, and artificial intelligence-guided shopping features as instrumental drivers supporting brands across the entire consumer journey, from initial product discovery to final checkout.[1][2]
