OpenLight and Tower Semiconductor Release PDK for InP-on-Silicon Photonics
OpenLight and Tower Semiconductor have launched a photonic Process Design Kit for Tower's PH18DA platform, enabling integrated circuit development through Cadence design tools.

OpenLight and Tower Semiconductor announced the release of OpenLight's photonic Process Design Kit (PDK) for Tower's PH18DA indium phosphide (InP)-on-silicon photonics platform. The newly available PDK operates within Cadence electronic design automation (EDA) tools, facilitating photonic integrated circuit (PIC) development on the PH18DA platform.[1][2]
Santa Barbara-based OpenLight focuses on heterogeneous III-V-on-silicon photonic integration and custom Photonic Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (PASICs). Tower Semiconductor, an analog semiconductor foundry headquartered in Migdal Haemek, Israel, trades on both NASDAQ and TASE under the symbol TSEM. The expanded ecosystem aims to accelerate photonic IC design and development across the industry.[1]
