Canada Faces Intense Wildfire Season With 5,000 Firefighters Battling Blazes
Prime Minister Mark Carney says nearly 300 aircraft are deployed as the country experiences one of its worst wildfire seasons on record.
Canada is currently experiencing one of the worst wildfire seasons on record, prompting an extensive emergency response. Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that more than 5,000 firefighters are actively battling the blazes across the country. In addition to the personnel on the ground, nearly 300 waterbombers and other aircraft have been deployed to combat the intense wildfires.[1][2]
To support the ongoing containment efforts, federal personnel have been working to manage the crisis. Prime Minister Carney visited federal workers in Ottawa on Sunday morning who are helping with the wildfire response, expressing support for those assisting in the emergency efforts.[2]
