Bangkok Bar Fire Death Toll Rises to 30 as Police Investigate Negligence

The death toll from a devastating fire at a Bangkok pub has risen to 30 after three more people died, according to the local district office. The blaze, which broke out in the early hours of Monday, has become the city's deadliest fire in 17 years. Additionally, Thai authorities reported that 24 people remain in critical condition in the hospital.[1][2]

An initial assessment by disaster officials indicates that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in a ceiling air conditioner. Police are currently investigating whether negligence was involved, focusing on whether the venue's exits were either blocked or difficult for patrons to access.[1]

The owner of the establishment has offered their deepest apologies and stated that the business will fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation into the tragedy.[1]
