BGV Announces Dual Use Center of Excellence, Expanded Team, and Investment in Percepto
BGV is formalizing its focus on technologies with both commercial and defense applications through a new center and an investment in autonomous drone developer Percepto

BGV announced the launch of its Dual Use Center of Excellence on April 28, 2026. Based in Menlo Park, California, the center is designed to formalize and scale the firm's activities in technologies that serve both commercial markets and defense applications. This initiative targets the convergence of artificial intelligence, industrial systems, and national priorities, which the firm identifies as a growing sector for economic and strategic infrastructure.[1][2]
Eric Benhamou, Founder and Managing Partner of BGV, stated that this next phase reflects the firm's view of an evolving global technology landscape. Benhamou emphasized that BGV is uniquely positioned to identify and scale companies that operate at the intersection of commercial and defense sectors. He noted that these companies are increasingly vital to both economic stability and national security interests.[1]
As an initial demonstration of the new platform, BGV has invested in Percepto, an Israeli company specializing in autonomous drone-in-a-box systems. Percepto's technology enables continuous monitoring and operations, fitting the firm's criteria for dual-use applications. Alongside the investment and the launch of the center, BGV also announced an expansion of its team to support these scaled activities.[1]
