Broadcom has lost a court bid to suspend a European Union antitrust request for U.S. legal documents after an EU court sided with European regulators. The decision marks a defeat for the U.S. chipmaker in its attempt to withhold the requested documentation.[1][2]

The legal papers sought by EU authorities are protected by U.S. legal professional privilege and involve VMware, which Broadcom acquired in 2023. Broadcom had petitioned the Luxembourg-based court in May to suspend the regulatory request.[2]
