The 52nd annual American Music Awards ceremony was broadcast live on both the CBS television network and the Paramount+ streaming service. The event provided viewers with live updates, musical performances, and behind-the-scenes moments from backstage throughout the entire evening.[2]

Nostalgia was a major theme of the evening's lineup, highlighted by special performances from New Kids on the Block and Keith Urban, who both took the stage to bring a retrospective energy to the live broadcast.[2]

In the major award categories, the popular boy band BTS emerged as a top winner, securing the highly coveted Artist of the Year title at the 2026 ceremony. Celebrating their major victory, the group expressed their excitement by declaring, 'We Made It Once Again.'[1][2]

In addition to winning Artist of the Year, BTS also secured another notable win for their hit single 'SWIM.' The track, which previously reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, was officially crowned the song of the summer.[1]
