Carro Enters Australia With Acquisition of Used Car Platform CarPlace
Asia Pacific automotive marketplace Carro has acquired Australian platform CarPlace, expanding its presence to eight markets

Singapore-based Carro, which operates as a leading online automotive marketplace in the Asia Pacific region, has announced its entry into the Australian market through the acquisition of CarPlace. CarPlace is a prominent Australian used car platform operated by Autoleague, which is one of the largest automotive groups in Australia. The acquisition, announced on June 18, 2026, is aimed at bringing a better and more transparent car buying and selling experience to Australian consumers.[1][2]
The transaction establishes a partnership between Carro and Autoleague, allowing Carro to secure a physical presence in three of the four largest markets in Australia. Under the agreement, Carro will take over physical showrooms located in Western Australia and Queensland. Additionally, the company plans to launch and roll out its wholesale operations out of Victoria, while also strengthening its digital capabilities to drive rapid growth across the country.[1][2]
With this expansion, Carro is now active in eight markets, further solidifying its position as one of the largest multi-country automotive marketplaces in the Asia Pacific region. The company aims to leverage its digital platform alongside its newly acquired physical footprint to scale its operations rapidly in the newly entered Australian market.[1][2]
