CMES Indonesia International Machine Tool Exhibition 2026 Debuts Sept. 3-5 in Jakarta
The inaugural event at the Jakarta International Expo comes as Indonesia's manufacturing sector shifts toward high-precision component manufacturing.

The inaugural CMES Indonesia International Machine Tool Exhibition is scheduled to make its debut from September 3 to September 5, 2026, at the Jakarta International Expo in Hall B. This expansion into the Indonesian market follows the success of the exhibition's initial debut in Vietnam in 2025. The event aims to address the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector in Southeast Asia.[1][2]
As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is currently undergoing rapid industrial advancement under its national "Making Indonesia 4.0" initiative. The country's metalworking sector is actively shifting away from traditional casting methods toward high-precision component manufacturing. This transition is being heavily driven by rising demand across several key industries, including automotive, electronics, infrastructure, and new energy.[1][2]
However, Indonesia's domestic machine tool industry remains nascent, leaving a significant gap in the market. Approximately 75 percent of the high-end equipment used in the country is currently reliant on imports. This high reliance on foreign technology presents a major strategic opportunity for international equipment suppliers looking to establish a presence in the region.[1][2]
