EU announces plan to ban social media for under 13s

The European Union is preparing to ban social media access for children under the age of 13 and introduce restrictions on digital technology for older minors, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Wednesday.[1][2]

The initiative to develop unified, EU-wide rules follows moves by several individual European Union member states that have already introduced their own social media limitations.[1]
