"Every Day CO2 Challenge": More Than a Game, A New Way of Learning

In Bangkok, traditional lectures often struggle to make complex environmental concepts easy for players to understand. To address this challenge, Varoon Varanyanond turned to an unlikely teaching tool: a card game. Varanyanond serves as the Industrial Partnership Advisor to the Center of Excellence on Petrochemical and Materials Technology (PETROMAT) at Chulalongkorn University.[1][2]

The newly developed game is called "Every Day CO2 Challenge." It is specifically designed to help players comprehend Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which is an internationally recognized framework. This framework is used to assess the environmental impacts of various products throughout their entire life cycle, alongside other difficult concepts such as carbon footprints.[1][2]

This interactive educational tool was created under the MA-RE DESIGN project. The initiative received support from GIZ, helping to bring the "Every Day CO2 Challenge" to fruition as a new way of learning.[1][2]

Global tech stocks decline amid chip sell-off and Netflix revenue forecast

Global tech stocks fell on July 17, 2026, as chip equipment maker ASML dropped 4.6% and mortgage rates rose amid renewed Middle East tensions, driving the Stoxx Europe 50 down about 1% [source]. The sell-off stems from ASML’s cautious 2026 growth outlook due to tariff uncertainty and geopolitical risks, which triggered broader semiconductor weakness and pressured tech investors like Prosus [5][11][12]. Creators and brands in tech-dependent sectors should reassess exposure to chip-related supply chains and consider hedging against further volatility before the August 1 tariff threat materializes [11][13].
