Family Loses Contact With British Couple Jailed in Iran

Lindsay and Craig Foreman, a couple from East Sussex, have been detained in Iran for more than a year following their arrest in early 2025. Their family recently reported that they have lost all contact with the pair, who were traveling through the country as part of an around-the-world motorcycle trip. The couple's relatives expressed deep concern over the sudden silence from the detainees, noting that they have been held for over twelve months.[1][2]

Both aged 53, the Foremans were sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted on spying charges. Their family members have described themselves as terrified by the situation and the lack of communication. The couple was reportedly entering the country on their motorcycling journey when they were first detained by Iranian authorities in January 2025.[1]

The British government has previously addressed the case, with the Foreign Secretary labeling the 10-year sentences as totally unjustifiable. Despite these diplomatic statements, the couple remains in custody, and the recent loss of contact has heightened fears for their well-being among their loved ones in the United Kingdom.[1]
