A devastating fire at an orphanage in a suburb of Algiers has left at least 11 people dead and 19 others injured, according to local emergency officials.

A fire at an orphanage in a suburb of the Algerian capital of Algiers has killed at least 11 people and injured 19 others, the country's civil defence announced on Thursday.[1][2]

Following the outbreak of the blaze, civil defence teams continued their efforts to extinguish the fire, which occurred in the Mohammadia district.[1][2]
