Google Limits Meta's Use of Gemini AI Models, FT Reports

Google has put limits on Meta’s use of its Gemini artificial intelligence models, according to a report by the Financial Times on Sunday. The restriction was implemented after the social media company sought more computing capacity than the rival technology group was able to provide.[1][2][4]

The decision to limit Meta's access to the Gemini models was driven by high demand. The move has disrupted Meta's internal artificial intelligence projects and has also affected other Google clients who rely on the company's infrastructure.[3]

These computing power constraints have hindered further growth in the sector. This bottleneck occurred despite the fact that Google has seen growing revenue within its Google Cloud division, highlighting the physical limits of current AI infrastructure.[3]
