Henley support centre celebrates surplus ahead of base move

Supporters of the Chiltern Centre in Henley gathered to celebrate registering a financial surplus of £120,000 from its last financial year. About 20 people, including family members, trustees, and Mayor Ian Reissmann, met in the garden of the Greys Road centre for disabled young adults to mark the achievement during its annual meeting held on Tuesday last week.[1][2][3]

During the annual meeting, attendees listened to addresses from centre directors alongside the newly appointed chair, David Buckle. Mr. Buckle, a retired general practitioner based in Woodley, served in the NHS for approximately 50 years throughout his medical career.[1]

In addition to his leadership role at the Chiltern Centre, Mr. Buckle holds trustee positions with Crohn’s and Colitis UK, which helps people affected by the two diseases, and the Stroke Association, which works to prevent strokes and support those who are affected.[1]
