Iran Allows Chinese Vessels to Transit Strait of Hormuz
Tehran has approved the passage of several Chinese ships through the Strait of Hormuz following diplomatic requests from Beijing, coinciding with President Trump's visit to China.

Iranian media outlets reported on Thursday that the government in Tehran has officially approved the transit of a number of Chinese vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. The strategic waterway will see the passage of these ships following recent diplomatic communications and talks between the two nations.[1][2]
The decision to permit the maritime transit was made after direct appeals from officials in Beijing. According to the reports, the facilitation of the passage for the Chinese ships was granted specifically following formal requests submitted by the Chinese foreign minister as well as the country's ambassador to Iran.[1][2]
The maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz coincides with international diplomatic travel. Iran is allowing the vessels to pass through the region on Thursday just as United States President Donald Trump is visiting Beijing to conduct scheduled talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.[1][2]
The timing of the transit approval comes ahead of the meeting between the American and Chinese leaders. While Iranian media confirmed the facilitation of the ships, the exact figure of Chinese vessels permitted to sail through the strait was not detailed beyond acknowledging that a number of ships were involved.[1][2]
