Iran football federation loses World Cup ticket allocation
Iran's football federation says the sudden cancellation of its ticket allocation raises questions of non-sporting interference

Iran's football federation announced on Tuesday that its ticket allocation for the upcoming World Cup has been pulled just days before the global showpiece kicks off. This decision has left many Iranian supporters in the lurch, as they had already made travel plans and arrangements to attend the matches but are now unable to do so.[1][2]
The World Cup is scheduled to begin on Thursday, with Iran set to play its Group G matches in Los Angeles and Seattle. The team's schedule includes two matches in Los Angeles, where they will face New Zealand on 15 June and Belgium on 21 June, followed by a match against Egypt in Seattle on 26 June.[1]
In a statement addressing the situation, the Iranian federation expressed its frustration, stating that the sudden withdrawal of the ticket allocation 'raises questions about interference of non-sporting considerations' just days before the tournament's start.[1]
