Iran Responds to U.S. Proposal Aimed at Ending Regional Conflict
Iran has submitted its response to a U.S. peace proposal via Pakistani mediators, focusing on a cessation of hostilities and the restoration of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz

Iran has officially submitted its response to a United States proposal intended to end the ongoing conflict, which has lasted more than two months. According to reports from Iran's state-run news agency, IRNA, on Sunday, the response was delivered to Pakistan, which is serving as a mediator in the current diplomatic efforts. This move marks a significant step in the international attempt to negotiate an end to the regional violence.[1][2]
Under the terms of the Iranian proposal, the immediate phase of negotiations will focus exclusively on achieving a cessation of hostilities in the region. A source familiar with the matter told state media that the primary objective is to secure a temporary halt to the fighting. This focus on de-escalation is intended to provide a foundation for further diplomatic discussions between the involved parties.[1][2]
Beyond the cessation of military actions, the talks also seek to restore normal maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane. While Pakistan is facilitating the delivery of the response, Qatar is also participating as a mediator in the broader efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement. These multi-nation negotiations represent a concerted push to stabilize the region following the prolonged period of warfare.[1]
