Marion Cotillard Reunites with Ex Guillaume Canet for Cannes Thriller 'Karma'

Marion Cotillard and her former partner Guillaume Canet have officially reunited at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of "Karma." The new psychological thriller marks the pair's first cinematic project together since their romantic split, serving as their ninth professional collaboration overall. The pulsating French thriller is premiering out of competition tonight at the prestigious film festival.[1][2]

In "Karma," Cotillard takes on the intense role of Jeanne, a woman whose life begins to completely collapse following the mysterious disappearance of her young godson. The tense narrative follows her character as she desperately attempts to escape from a religious cult. The performance is already being described as one of the most intense roles of Cotillard's extensive career.[1][2]

Cotillard maintains a highly visible presence at this year's Cannes Film Festival, featuring in two different films that are part of the official selection. Meanwhile, the festival is also hosting actor John Travolta, who is presenting his directorial debut on the Croisette. Travolta's new project, titled "Propeller One-Way Night Coach to Los Angeles," is a direct adaptation of a children's novel that he originally wrote for his own son.[1][2]
