A New Mexico court has ordered Meta to pay $567 million to address harms to young people on Facebook and Instagram.

A New Mexico court has ordered Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to pay $567 million to address harms to young people from its platforms and support online mental health for children.[1][2][3]
The newly announced $567 million penalty comes in addition to $375 million in civil penalties that jurors ordered against the social media parent company in March.[1]
