METI-Supported Global South-Japan Tech Talent Internship Opens Applications for 2026 Program
The program connects STEM students and recent graduates from the Global South with leading Japanese technology companies through on-site and online internships
Applications have officially opened for the 2026 Global South-Japan Tech Talent Internship (GS-JTI), a program sponsored by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support Co., Ltd. is serving as the Program Secretariat for the initiative, which was announced in Tokyo on June 16, 2026.[1][2]
The GS-JTI program is designed for STEM students and recent graduates from the Global South, particularly those in fields such as IT, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors. Through on-site and online internships, the program aims to connect these participants with leading Japanese companies to create opportunities for cross-border learning, skills development, and future career growth.[1][2]
