The Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, successfully reclaimed the top spot at the North American box office during its fourth weekend of release. According to studio estimates reported on Sunday, the film from Lionsgate earned $26.1 million, demonstrating significant staying power in theaters. This latest haul has propelled the movie's worldwide earnings to over $703.9 million, placing the production in what industry analysts describe as rarefied territory.[1][2]

In the second-place position, The Devil Wears Prada 2 earned $18 million for the weekend. The sequel continues to perform well internationally, reaching a global cumulative total of $546.2 million. The weekend also saw the debut of Obsession, which exceeded initial box office expectations by bringing in $16.1 million to secure the third spot in the rankings.[2]

Mortal Kombat II maintained a presence in the top five, taking fourth place with $13.4 million in ticket sales. Additionally, Amazon MGM Studios demonstrated significant market breadth by landing three separate films in the weekend's top 10. Among these successful titles were The Sheep Detectives and Project Hail Mary, reflecting a competitive weekend for major studio releases.[2]
