New Battery-Operated Bluetooth® Controller Enables Truly Mobile, Plug-and-Play Access
Southco has unveiled a plug-and-play Bluetooth controller designed to overcome power and space limitations in remote, retrofit, and mobile security environments.

On July 30, 2026, Southco announced the release of its new Battery-Operated Single Output Bluetooth® Controller, designed to overcome longstanding physical and technical challenges in access hardware deployment. Historically, implementing Bluetooth® access hardware has proven difficult, particularly within mobile, retrofit, or remote environments. These installations are frequently hindered by severe power limitations, constrained physical spaces, and intricate security configurations that complicate standard hardware setup.[1][2]
Southco's latest access solution eliminates these traditional deployment barriers by providing a fully self-contained, plug-and-play unit engineered for long battery life. By delivering a self-powered Bluetooth® controller, the hardware allows operators to introduce wireless access control capabilities into challenging locations without requiring extensive wiring, complex security setups, or permanent external power sources.[1][2]
