New Bridge to Be Built Over Damaged 200-Year-Old Blue Mountains Highway
A new bridge structure will be constructed over an unsafe section of the Great Western Highway built by convicts nearly two centuries ago.
Plans have been revealed regarding the length of the closure for a damaged section of the Great Western Highway in the Blue Mountains. To resolve the issue, a new bridge structure will be constructed directly above the unsafe portion of the road.[1][2]
The damaged section of the highway holds historical significance, having been originally constructed by convicts nearly 200 years ago. The new bridge structure aims to address safety concerns on this historic transport route.[1][2]
