Pakistan military operation kills 29 militants near Afghan border
Pakistani forces carried out ground operations and strikes along the Afghan border, killing 29 militants following a deadly raid on a paramilitary headquarters.

Pakistani security forces have launched a major military campaign involving ground operations and strikes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, resulting in the deaths of 29 militants. According to Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, these major operations were initiated in direct response to a series of multiple militant attacks that have recently occurred across the country. Afghan authorities did not provide any immediate response to the military actions taking place along the shared border.[1][2]
The border operations commenced shortly after a deadly attack on Saturday that targeted the paramilitary Rangers' headquarters in Karachi. During that incident, militants armed with guns and explosives launched an assault that killed three soldiers. In the ensuing clash, Pakistani security forces managed to kill three of the attackers and successfully captured another.[1][2]
The Pakistani Taliban faction known as Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility for the raid on the Karachi headquarters. In response to this and other threats, Pakistani officials stated that their security forces launched the border operations to target hideouts belonging to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar as well as the militant group Fitna al-Khwarij.[2]
