Poland and Ukraine Open Reconstruction Conference With Conciliatory Tone
Despite diplomatic tensions and the absence of President Volodymyr Zelensky, officials from Poland and Ukraine opened a recovery conference in Gdansk with a friendly focus on post-war reconstruction

Poland and Ukraine struck a conciliatory tone on Thursday as they opened the annual Ukraine Recovery Conference in the Polish port of Gdansk. The landmark conference, which is focused on Ukraine's post-war reconstruction, commenced despite recent diplomatic friction between the two allied nations.[1][2]
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not attend the event, snubbing the conference over a diplomatic row with Warsaw and weeks of squabbling over historical differences. Kyiv instead sent Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who struck a friendly tone at the opening and did not mention the historical disagreements.[1]
