Queensland and the Northern Territory are not onboard with the federal government's plan to force data centres to generate renewable energy. The stance comes as Queensland doubles down on an all-in approach to power data centres.[1][2]
Under the proposed federal policy, data centres would be required to generate renewable energy. However, both Queensland and the Northern Territory have declined to join the Commonwealth's initiative.[1][2]
