Retail investors build big dreams on small slices of SpaceX
Individual investors eagerly checked their brokerage accounts and turned to the open market to secure a piece of SpaceX's highly anticipated public offering

In New York on June 12, individual investors eager for a piece of SpaceX's mega initial public offering on Friday closely scrutinized their email inboxes and brokerage accounts. These retail buyers were anxious to see exactly how big of an allocation, or slice of the pie, they had received from the highly anticipated debut.[1][2]
For those who did not receive their desired allocation through the initial process, the open market became the immediate alternative. Many of these eager individual investors went straight to the open market to scoop up SpaceX shares on their very first day of trading.[1][2]
