Russia Accuses Ukraine of Violating U.S.-Brokered Three-Day Truce
Moscow claims Kyiv broke a ceasefire agreement on Sunday, while Ukrainian officials report casualties from Russian drone and artillery strikes

Russia has formally accused Kyiv of violating a three-day ceasefire brokered by the United States on Sunday. The accusation comes amid a period of intense fighting, with Moscow claiming that Ukrainian forces failed to adhere to the terms of the diplomatic agreement intended to provide a temporary reprieve from the ongoing conflict.[1][2]
In contrast to the Russian claims, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian drone and artillery strikes have continued unabated over the past 24 hours. These attacks reportedly resulted in the death of at least one individual and left several others injured, according to statements from Kyiv regarding the recent military activity across the front lines.[1][2]
Specific reports of violence emerged from the Kherson region, where Vladimir Saldo, the Moscow-installed leader of the Russian-occupied territory, claimed that Ukrainian shelling had caused further casualties. Saldo reported that two people were injured during the strikes, which occurred in the Russian-occupied part of the southern region.[1]
The conflicting reports underscore the fragility of international efforts to mediate a pause in the hostilities. While the United States had brokered the three-day arrangement to reduce violence, both sides have utilized the period to report alleged infractions and continued casualties resulting from drone and artillery operations.[1][2]
