Snapchat Parent Company Sued Over Alleged Facilitation of 12-Year-Old's Rape
A lawsuit filed by a Missouri family alleges Snapchat's Quick Add and Snap Map features enabled an assailant to groom and rape a 12-year-old girl

The family of a Missouri teenager has filed a lawsuit against Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, alleging that the social media platform is responsible for facilitating her rape when she was 12 years old. The legal complaint argues that the platform's design and specific features directly enabled the abuse.[1][2]
According to the lawsuit, the assailant, identified as Gabriel Joel Valentin-Rios, used Snapchat features such as Quick Add and Snap Map to connect with and groom the victim, who is identified in the complaint as J.F. The family claims these features allowed the perpetrator to target the young girl.[1][2]
