Supreme Court rejects Trump appeal in E Jean Carroll defamation case
The high court declined to hear Donald Trump's challenge to the 2023 civil verdict finding him liable for sexual abuse and defamation.

The United States Supreme Court on Monday rejected a bid by Donald Trump to appeal a $5 million civil verdict awarded to E. Jean Carroll. The high court's decision leaves intact the outcome of a 2023 trial, during which a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing the former magazine columnist and defaming her.[1][2]
Carroll has publicly maintained since 2019 that Trump sexually assaulted her inside a New York department store dressing room in the mid-1990s. With the Supreme Court declining to take up the case on Monday, Trump's legal effort to appeal the $5 million judgment has been rejected.[1][2]
