Suvendu Adhikari has been officially sworn in as the first Chief Minister of West Bengal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marking a historic milestone for the political party in the state. Governor R.N. Ravi administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Adhikari during a grand ceremony held at the Brigade Parade Grounds in Kolkata. This transition marks a significant shift in the state's political landscape as the first BJP-led administration takes charge.[1][2]
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a wide array of senior political figures. Among those present were several Union Ministers and prominent leaders from the BJP. The event served as a major gathering for the party's national leadership to celebrate the formation of the new government in West Bengal.[1][2]
In addition to federal officials, the inauguration drew participation from Chief Ministers representing various states governed by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). These leaders joined the senior BJP hierarchy at the historic Kolkata venue to witness the oath-taking process and the formal commencement of Mr. Adhikari's tenure as Chief Minister.[1][2]
