The United States is easing its travel restrictions on Iran's World Cup soccer team, allowing the squad to travel into the country two days before its next match, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the Iran Football Federation confirmed that the team will leave its current base camp in Tijuana, Mexico, on Wednesday to travel to Seattle.[1][2]
Despite being allowed entry for the upcoming game, the Iranian team's stay in the country will be brief. A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated that the squad will still be required to leave the United States immediately after Friday's match in Seattle.[1][2]
