US military reimposes naval blockade on Iranian ports, launches new strikes

US forces on Tuesday reimposed a naval blockade to prevent ships from sailing to or from Iran's ports. The military action also included a fourth consecutive day of strikes against the country in response to Tehran's recent attacks on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz and on various Gulf facilities.[1][2]

In response to the escalating military actions, Iran's deputy foreign minister accused the United States of destroying the interim peace deal. The official stated that Tehran now has no remaining commitments under the memorandum of understanding.[2]
