US to Guide Stranded Ships Out of Strait of Hormuz

The United States will launch a military effort on Monday to guide stranded ships out of the Strait of Hormuz, according to President Donald Trump. The announcement comes as two ships in the vicinity of the strait reported being attacked. The operation, which Trump described as a humanitarian effort, aims to assist hundreds of vessels and approximately 20,000 seafarers currently trapped in the region.[1][2][3]

Dubbed Project Freedom, the operation will commence on Monday morning and involve a significant deployment of American military assets. According to the US military, more than 100 aircraft and 15,000 personnel will participate in the mission. In a social media post on Sunday, Trump stated that the Iran war has impacted neutral and innocent countries, adding that the US has informed these nations that it will safely escort their ships out of the restricted waters.[1][3][4]

The initiative has drawn mixed reactions amid ongoing regional tensions. Iran quickly denounced the planned US operation, labeling the move as a violation of an existing ceasefire. Despite this condemnation, Trump noted that the United States is continuing to hold very positive discussions with Iranian representatives regarding the situation.[1][2][3][4]
