‘We Wanted To Match the Original and Go Beyond’ – Alien: Isolation 2’s Director on Improving a Survivor Horror Icon
Creative director Al Hope discusses the development of the highly anticipated survival horror sequel at Creative Assembly

Creative director Al Hope is aiming to deliver a worthy successor to the acclaimed survival horror hit Alien: Isolation. Speaking about the development of the upcoming sequel, Alien: Isolation 2, Hope expressed a strong desire to not only match the high standards and intense atmosphere set by the original game but to push the experience even further. The goal for the development team at Creative Assembly is to create a follow-up that truly honors its predecessor while introducing new improvements to the survival horror icon.[1][2]
The development process of the original Alien: Isolation was famously defined by the team's dedication to the source material, with Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror masterpiece, Alien, playing on a constant loop in Creative Assembly's offices. IGN recently visited those same offices to get an early hands-on preview of the sequel, highlighting the studio's ongoing commitment to capturing the dread and tension of the iconic franchise.[1]
