WestJet Flight Attendants Face Sunday Strike Deadline

The clock is ticking down toward a critical strike deadline that could see 4,400 WestJet flight attendants hit the picket line as soon as Sunday. The potential labor disruption threatens to impact airline operations if bargaining fails before the deadline arrives.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Cabin crew at the Calgary-based airline previously voted 99 per cent in favour of a strike mandate in mid-July. The overwhelming vote demonstrated strong backing among workers as union representatives sought a new contract with management.[4][9]

Intense negotiations on a new contract have been ongoing since the mid-July strike vote. Both sides remain locked in discussions as the clock ticks down toward the mandatory deadline this weekend.[4][9]
