Zilliz Launches Vector Lakebase to Create Unified Data Platform for AI
The creator of the Milvus vector database has launched a public preview of Vector Lakebase, pairing its real-time vector search engine with a lake-native data foundation

Redwood City, California-based Zilliz, the company behind the Milvus open-source vector database, has announced the public preview of Zilliz Vector Lakebase. This major Zilliz Cloud release pairs the company's production vector database with a shared, lake-native data foundation. The launch aims to extend what is recognized as the world's most widely adopted vector database into a unified data platform designed specifically for artificial intelligence applications.[1][2]
The new Vector Lakebase is designed to keep Zilliz Cloud's real-time vector search capabilities at its core. This core engine is already trusted and run by more than 10,000 enterprises and artificial intelligence teams globally. Among the prominent organizations utilizing this technology are Zillow, OpenEvidence, Exa, Filevine, and MiniMax.[1]
