ASIA PACIFIC'S LEADING DENTAL BODY CALLS FOR A PREVENTION-FIRST SHIFT IN ORAL HEALTH, BACKED BY NEW GLOBAL EVIDENCE
The Asia Pacific Dental Federation has released its first dentist-authored white paper on daily self-care to address the region's significant oral disease burden.

On May 25, 2026, the Asia Pacific Dental Federation (APDF) officially released its first dentist-authored guidance on daily self-care, titled "The Power of Prevention: Evidence-Based Guidelines for Self-Oral Care." Published as a landmark white paper in Singapore, the document sets out what effective daily oral care should look like and explains why maintaining oral hygiene matters well beyond a person's teeth.[1][2]
The APDF's new guidelines aim to address the ongoing public health burden of oral diseases across the Asia Pacific region, where conditions such as periodontitis, gingivitis, and dental caries continue to pose a significant challenge. By establishing these evidence-based guidelines, the federation makes the case that preventing oral disease is not just possible, but is within reach for everyone.[1][2]
In an effort to promote these healthier daily routines, LISTERINE® has joined the APDF in championing better daily oral care habits backed by new global evidence. The organizations highlight that the current regional data underscores an urgent need for stronger prevention and early detection of these widespread oral health issues.[1][2]
