Delhi witnesses massive participation in Yoga Day celebrations across 40 locations

The national capital of Delhi witnessed enthusiastic public participation during the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations on Sunday. To mark the occasion, yoga sessions were organized at 40 prominent locations across Delhi, allowing citizens from various parts of the capital to gather and participate in the global celebration.[1]

The celebrations in Delhi were held under the specific theme of "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." The events were coordinated by the Ministry of Ayush, which worked in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and other government ministries to facilitate the sessions at key locations.[1]

On a national level, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations from Kolkata's Red Road. A massive crowd of 35,000 participants joined the Prime Minister at the Kolkata venue, supporting the nationwide campaign that focused on promoting healthy ageing through the practice of yoga.[2]
