Delivery Hero Unveils Herogen AI Agent with 130-Engineer Coding Capacity
Delivery Hero has launched an in-house autonomous software delivery agent that provides the annual coding output of 130 senior engineers
Berlin-based Delivery Hero, which operates as a global local delivery platform, has officially unveiled Herogen, an advanced autonomous software delivery agent. The technology was first introduced to the company’s internal product and engineering teams in February to assist with development tasks. This rollout followed the in-house development of the tool, which was designed to integrate directly into the company's existing software delivery workflows.[1][2]
According to the company, Herogen currently generates an annual coding output equivalent to 130 senior engineers. This effectively adds the capacity of a large virtual engineering department to its existing workforce. Delivery Hero emphasized that the system's capacity is expanding rapidly as it becomes a core component of the company's engineering infrastructure, aiming to unlock significantly higher levels of engineering output.[1][2]
The agent was developed entirely in-house by Delivery Hero using industry-leading Large Language Models (LLMs). In addition to its primary coding functions, Herogen utilizes a specialized "Council of Agents" to manage autonomous security and quality assurance throughout the software delivery process. This framework is intended to ensure that the autonomous output meets the company's standards for software integrity and performance.[1]
