Government of Canada invests in Parents for Bilingual Education New Brunswick
The federal government is providing funding to Parents for Bilingual Education New Brunswick to enhance French-as-a-second-language learning for youth
On April 24, 2026, the Government of Canada announced a significant investment of more than $440,000 aimed at expanding French-as-a-second-language learning opportunities for youth across New Brunswick. This financial support is dedicated to the annual programming of the organization Parents for Bilingual Education New Brunswick. The funding is scheduled to cover two consecutive years, specifically the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 periods, ensuring that the organization can maintain its educational initiatives for the foreseeable future.[1][2]
The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Moncton-Dieppe, delivered the announcement in Moncton. By investing in these programs, the federal government seeks to provide young people with the necessary resources to achieve proficiency in French as a second language. This initiative is designed to support bilingualism in the province, providing youth with the linguistic tools they need to succeed in a bilingual environment and strengthening the educational framework provided by Parents for Bilingual Education New Brunswick for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 programming years.[1][2]
